podcasts from Germany

Hi guys,

If anyone wants to check out this radio programme ?the Sunday Service? from Germany here?s the details. They are featuring the Clean?s new album Mr Pop as album of the week and are playing tracks by Verlaines, Sunley and a whole lot of other bands I don?t know anything about but are bound to be worth a listen.

I?m off to Wellington for a few days to see new grandchild and family, so short blog today. It?s marking season, so little creative work is being done aside from a few hastily scribbled (well typed) lyrics. Spring is close and I?ve made a start on the veggie garden. Tinkering with the idea of writing a song called, ?how to enjoy being poor? in honour of the recession, the debt from corporate bailouts that the younger generation will inherit (I know that it?s mainly US and UK where such things have happened but debt has a mysterious way of being shared around the globe). Well, an appreciation of music is cheap to acquire (only takes time) and lasts a lifetime. I?ll leave it up to great uncle Bill to sign off from "The Merchant of Venice" (with thanks to William Direen for bringing it back to my attention).

Nor is not mov'd with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils."
